On this, the final day of 2014, as the champagne chills and the sparklers & Auld Lang Syne is prepped and ready for midnight, I couldn't help but be nostalgic in reflection over 2014. It has been such a big year for us, and whilst I appreciate this may be the umpteenth "year in review" post you have seen today, I am kind of viewing this one being just for my own personal records so won't be offended at all if you scroll right by! But it is always fun to reflect on Auld Lang Syne, on times of old, and so here is my year via my Instagram feed!
My goodness I can't believe how little Madeleine looked a year ago! It has felt like she's this size for so long, but she was so mini last January!
Fenton House in Hampstead is one of my favourite spots in London. As soon as it was even just the slightest bit warm enough to sit outside, you could always find us on a picnic rug in the walled garden or apple orchard. Usually eating something picnic-perfect!
Early afternoon strolls around Hampstead usually ended up at one of the many great pubs, such as the Holly Bush, which was about 50m from our front door, so you could say it was our local!!!
We also took a sneaky trip to Abu Dhabi for my Husband to attend his job interviews, but I didn't share any of that on social media, so that trip was on the down-low!
And then later in June we went to the Spanish island of Mallorca. We relaxed in the sun eating some incredible seafood and tapas and just generally enjoyed ourselves!
July was a busy month in meg-made world! One of my favourite events was when I helped my friend Lauren out with balloons for The Hundred Event in Dallas.
We spent some time in Jersey and just for something new, ate some delicious food! We experienced our first ever Michelin Star restaurant and ate about a tonne of Jersey Ice Cream.
The month of September was spent soaking in the last of the British summer and eating THIS CAKE.
Our farewell to London was pretty much the entire month of October. We did so many wonderful things and really just enjoyed our final month there. The highlight for sure was dining at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, although we did then retrace our favourite food steps around Hampstead too, which I am still yet to properly document!!!
And we took a quick trip back to Oxford to just wander around these great walls one last time before leaving.
Farewelling our life in London and starting our adventurous month we started off in Bellagio, which is on Lake Como, in Italy.
And we had some time in Austria, although this photo shoot is still yet to be blogged about, so watch out for that in the New Year too!!! This is Madeleine and I in the hills of Salzburg. Which were alive with the sound of music, if you must know!
And in Vienna, I ate the most decadent torte and the best gluten free pizza I have ever stumbled across!
We set off for the USA where we had two glorious days in Washington DC before spending Thanksgiving in Charlottesville Virginia.
What an incredibly busy and adventurous year! For all of those sceptics who think that adventures end when you have children... I see your scepticism and raise you Madeleine's 63 flights!
2015 is promising to be equally as exciting as we explore this entirely new part of the world. I am also so excited to relaunch my Etsy store early in the New Year. I have really missed having a creative outlet these past few months, so can't wait to share with you all of the things I've been day dreaming about while we've been travelling.
May 2015 bring you good health, much happiness and I hope you reach high and achieve all of your dreams.
For Auld Lang Syne and to a Happy New Year!
