I love knowing what inspires people. Inspiration can come from absolutely anywhere. Sometimes I'll be at a gelati shop (ok, often I am at a gelati shop) and I will see some flavours together that just look so beautiful together that I photograph it for later inspiration. I take inspiration from sunsets, outfit combinations, house decor and from a whole lot of food. I wanted to organise my mood boards from Pinterest that has formed the inspiration behind the different colours of my confetti-filled balloons, and so have put them all in one beautiful place, "meg-made balloon inspo".
In case you were wondering what inspired my colour choices, or if you are looking for some ideas for a beautiful party, here are my favourite balloons and their "inspo" boards too!
Two years ago I threw a Baby "Sprinkle" party and ever since then it feels like I can't not see beautiful ideas for sprinkles themed parties! There's just no end to the gorgeous ideas that are going around, I can't wait to throw another one again and to draw inspiration from all of these bright and fun ideas.
I will always love this combination because it was the very first one I ever did for Madeleine's party, and was the original inspiration for meg-made. The blushing tones are just gorgeous. Feminine, classic and romantic. The things that can be done with gold these days blows my mind!!
Ever since we've moved to Abu Dhabi I have been obsessed with watermelon. We are finding the "winter" to be rather warm, and so are embracing all kinds of refreshing delights!!
Along with refreshing fruit is the need for refreshing beverages too! I love pink and yellow together, I like the yellow adding such an unexpected fun to the expected girlyness that is pink!
The inspiration behind these balloons makes me think of gorgeous winter snow and romantic scenes. Our new house is being set up with a lot of white and soft greys, so perhaps I am taking inspiration from our latest decor rather than any form of wedding planning!!
My favourite place in the entire world remains to be Byron Bay. To quote a famous and beloved Australian tune, "no matter how far or how wide I roam, I still call Australia home". And to me, I never feel more at home than when I am at Byron. So this is the main inspiration for this colour combination.
Orange and pink are such a fun combination. I used to get bunches of pink and bunches of orange gerberas when I was younger and just thought they made any day and any room brighter.
Last and definitely not least, the baby shower inspired balloons. Not a difficult one to be inspired by, but as my little girl is growing up, I am really enjoying more and more blue for her too. I just adore the softness of these colours together, they make me feel really calm.
Now you've seen where my inspiration comes from, I'm curious to know whether you are inspired by similar things? If you are creative, do you search for ideas or do you let the ideas come to you??
If you want to find any of the sources of any of these pictures, click through to the pinterest board and the original listing is sited.
I hope you are having a lovely week, I'm hoping that as the large leaves our house finally, that I'll get back into blogging properly!! I've spent a lot of my down-time composing this post, and so now I'm hoping to roll with the momentum! Happy Shrove Tuesday!
